Topo Ultraventure 5 Women

If you love long days on the trail – whether you're running, hiking or a bit of both – the Topo Ultraventure 5 for women deserves a place on your shortlist. It's Topo Athletic's most popular trail shoe, now in its fifth generation, and it's built around one simple idea: comfort that lasts as long as you do.

The foundation is a reworked ZipFoam™ midsole with 35 mm of cushioning under the heel and 30 mm under the forefoot. The ride is soft and forgiving, so the kilometres feel easier on your legs, and the moderate 5 mm drop keeps your stride natural without overloading your calves.

On the ground, a Vibram® XS Trek outsole gives confident grip on wet and dry surfaces. The lug pattern is designed for mixed terrain, so the shoe feels just as at home on forest paths and gravel as it does on the road sections in between – perfect for runs that start from your front door.

Despite the generous cushioning, the women's Ultraventure 5 weighs around 247 g in a US 7 (EU 38). The new tightly woven mesh upper is hard-wearing and breathable, with added padding around the heel and tongue for a softer, more comfortable hold. A universal gaiter attachment at the heel keeps grit, sand and snow out when you add a pair of Topo gaiters.

Why we recommend the Topo Ultraventure 5

What we appreciate most is the fit. Topo's anatomical toe box gives your toes room to spread, while the heel and midfoot stay locked in – a combination that really pays off on longer outings when feet tend to swell. For anyone who wants a cushioned, versatile trail shoe that's as good for weekend hikes as for long trail runs, the Ultraventure 5 is an easy choice.

It's made for runners and hikers who want a well-cushioned, comfortable trail shoe for long distances and mixed terrain, with plenty of room for the toes.

What has changed from the Ultraventure 4?
Stack height, drop and the Vibram® outsole are the same. Version 5 adds a new woven mesh upper, more padding at the heel and tongue, a universal gaiter attachment and a reworked ZipFoam™ midsole.

Can I use the Ultraventure 5 on the road?
Yes. The outsole is designed for mixed surfaces, so short and medium road sections are no problem, making it ideal for runs that start on tarmac and continue onto trails.
